FANTA MORGAN (Mrs.) : Archivist
FANTA MORGAN (Mrs.) a Sierra Leonean by Nationality joined the RAIC in 2015 to date as an Archivist. She had worked for London Mining Company Limited as Document Controller and Export Administrator in 2010 – 2015. She was a Technical Assistant in Records Management at Accountant General’s Department, Ministry of Finance in 2006 – 2010. In 2003 – 2006, she was a Library Assistant at Special Court for Sierra Leone Library.
She is a graduate with Bachelor of Arts BA (Hons) Degree in Library Science since 2004 from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. She also holds a Diploma in the same course of study in 2001.
Fanta Morgan has fifteen years extensive expertise in Information and Records Management Profession with admin support services from both private and public sector. She is committed to delivering high quality results with little or no supervision and self-motivated. She developed the Archives Unit at RAIC from scratch and maintained up to date filing system since 2015 – date. She developed a draft Code of Practice on the management and disposal of records by Public Authorities which is awaiting validation.
She has experience in facilitating basic records management training as conducted for staff at RAIC on filing policy and procedures and tracking records at every stage in the office in 2017. In 2010 - 2015, she developed the Document Control Unit from scratch and maintained up to date Electronic Document Records Management System (EDRMS). Established and maintained master drawings and vessels databases which were published on the Company’s shared folder. She also conducted an earlier basic records management training at Accountant General’s Department which increased office organization and more efficient filing system that yielded successes in the EU test-run exercises conducted (bench-marks 2007 & 2008 Financial Year). She provided effective reference services to Lawyers, Judges and other library users with both hardcopy as well as electronic information searches at Special Court for Sierra Leone Library in 2003 – 2006.
