KEY Achievements
- The National Secretariat of the Right to Access Information Commission (RAIC) is fully operational;
- Public Awareness and Sensitisation nationwide programmes on-going and specific engagements with MDAs being expanded
- Freedom of information requests, involving central and local governments, the media, civil societies, the legal profession, other MDAs, and the general public being monitored and facilitated by the RAIC for positive outcomes;
- Working with MDAs to develop publication schemes for early and sustained implementation of pro-active implementation of their mandatory obligations in the RAI Act, 2013;
- The Regulations and Code of Practice for Records Management, for effective implementation of the RAI Act, 2013 developed and awaiting validation by multi-Stakeholders and enactment by Parliament;
- Working with MDAs on the development and enactment of the new Records and Achieves Act, and its effective implementation;
- Coordinating the Open Data and Data Compact processes in Sierra Leone, as well as, SDGs, and implementation of programmes in the Open Data Readiness Assessment (ODRA); in collaboration with UN, Multilateral, Bilateral and National Agencies.
